Tragedies are happening all over the world, but nothing really sinks in until it hits closer to home.
Over the past few weeks it seems like the whole world is falling apart, which make keeping a positive outlook on life very difficult.
First the Utica cop that got shot and killed last Thursday night doing a traffic stop. He was only 32 years old, former Marine and has been on the police force for over 5 years. It was reported that he was wearing a bullet proof vest but that still didn't keep him alive.
So many questions about this senseless killing.
But that hasn't been the only killings going on.
Monday, the VA Tech shooting, killing 33 people, injuring at least 15 other people.
What makes someone simple take someone else life?
I can't fathom being able to point a gun and shooting someone.
Now I have been mad enough to want to so call "kill" someone but I could never ever do it. I just can't understand what snaps to make a person do such a thing.
This just goes to show you that anything can happen at any time. No one is guaranteed that they will live a long life. Just because are healthy doesn't mean that you will live long either. You could be going to the mall, the movie or simply out to eat and some nutcase having a bad day decides to take some lives.
Such a somber feeling that it could happen to me or someone I love.
I could just be heading to the store to pick up dinner and get shot or get into an accident.
Or even worst, someone I love could be the who gets killed.
Have I told them I loved them? Do they know how much they have made a difference in my life? Would I have any regrets of making their lives miserable or have I done everything possible to better their lives?
You just can put it off any more, why wait until tomorrow when there just might not be a tomorrow.
My heart goes out to all those families and friends who are going through these tragedies. And not only the ones we hear about on the news but the ones we don't hear about.
