We had an awesome time!
First of all I was able to share this experience with my best girlfriend Tammy (we don't get to have these types of experiences often, what with the children and just how busy lives get) so just being able to go out and hang is a very special treat.
Secondly, the whole reason we were even there in the first place was because Danyel, Tammy's daughter is a HUGE and I mean H - U - G - E Evanescence fan and this was her very first concert! To be able to share in that experience was an honor too. Not only did we get to reminisce about our first concert or any concert for that fact, we also met some really cool people.
There was a group of kids (I would say in their early 20's) that was traveling around with the tour. At least in this north east region. They were from Canada (Ontario I believe). They have been to all their concerts in Canada, CT, NY etc.
Finger Eleven was OK and Chevelle I really didn't care for But Evanescence ROCKED.
I think now that I am older I see things from a different point of view. I took in more of my surroundings, the people, the stage. Where as when I was young I was there and had fun, rocked out but I don't feel I soaked it in as much I did this last time.
The crowds started to get a little rough by the time Evanescence took the stage. It wouldn't have been as bad but we were trying to protect Danyel from getting crushed or hurt so Tammy and I took the brunt of it. Once Evanescence took stage Danyel didn't even notice we were there anymore.
There were a few fights that broke out right behind us and the pushy Bitches that tried weaseling there way up. The tickets were general admission on the floor at the Glens Falls Civic Center.
We actually had some very good luck in finding a close place to park and getting in the doors rather quickly. Not only that but once we got in there we headed for the floor and found a very good spot and held it all night long.
I only wish I had a camera phone or even just a camera. I know the tickets and the door said no cameras, video or recording devices but when entering they patted you down quickly and just asked if you have any cameras....?????? Hello, OK like if I had a camera on my I would just say "Oh yeah shit sorry" Duh! SO there were tons of people with camera phones just snapping away.
The experience was a total blast. It made me realise how much I miss going out and having these new experiences and adventures. For the past year and a half I feel like I've been stuck in this rut and so not happy. It needs to change, I need to change and find what makes me happy again.
This is a good start!
