Heeleys

For those of you who are not into the latest trend or fashion let me fill you in on what Heeleys are:

Simply, they are a sneaker with one or two small wheels on the bottom back end of the shoe. You can walk around and then easily lean back and roll.

I have seen many children in stores easily gliding by be with these so called "Heeleys"

Well how difficult can they actually be??

Back in the day I could roller skate. Four wheels on the bottom of a boot or shoe. I wasn't an expert but I could hold my own. I tried roller blading but wasn't able to do that. I couldn't ice skate so roller blading just wasn't meant for me.

But these Heeleys have to be easy right??

They are low to the ground you can walk normally on the front part of your feet so what is so hard?

EVERYTHING!

I decided to get a pair myself. I put them on for the first time down at Paul's because he doesn't have any carpeting so it will make it easier for me to wheel around.

OMG! I almost fell on my ass.

It is one of the hardest things I had to do. It takes a lot of talent and practice to wear these damn things!

You need to lean back on your heel while balancing yourself. If you lean too far back you will fall. If you lean forward you wont be able to wheel. not that you wheel all the time like skates.
I have not mastered it. Paul said I should take them back and get my money back. But I refuse to give up. I told him I will get the hang of it if it is the last thing I do. I must have tried for 3 hours and by the time I decided to call it quiets for the night I was able to skate a tad bit.

Hey that is better than when I started.
If nothing else I will start to get more in shape and possible more toned.

I Have The Power!

When I got home last night there was a package sitting by my door.

I thought it was a bit strange because I didn't order anything.

So my first thought was that they delivered a package to the wrong apartment. When I picked it up I noticed it was addressed to me from the Neilson Corporation.

Then it dawned on me. It's finally here!!!!

A few months ago I signed up, online, to help participate in consumer panel. They send you a scanner and you have to scan in everything and I mean everything you buy (Food and Non Food items)

At the time they said that there were none available but would contact me when there was. About 2 months ago I received an e-mail asking a few questions and letting me know they would contact me soon when there was a scanner available.

Well I never got another e-mail but the scanner just arrived!

I was so excited. Now I have a say in what consumers may like or dislike in my own area.

I am now important. I have the power to help make or break products.

Girlfriend

The reason why I posted this video was first: I thought it was catchy andn second I can definitely see me doing something like this.

Girlfriend lyrics

[Chorus]
Hey! Hey! You! You!
I don’t like your girlfriend!
No way! No way!
I think you need a new one
Hey! Hey! You! You!
I could be your girlfriend

Hey! Hey! You! You!
I know that you like me
No way! No way!
No it’s not a secret
Hey! Hey! You! You!
I want to be your girlfriend

[Verse 1]
You’re so fine
I want you mine
You’re so delicious
I think about ya all the time
You’re so addictive
Don’t you know what I could do to make you feel alright?
Don’t pretend I think you know I’m damn precious
And Hell Yeah
I’m the motherfucking princess
I can tell you like me too and you know I’m right

[Bridge]
She’s like so whatever
You could do so much better
I think we should get together now
And that’s what everyone’s talking about!

[Chorus]
Hey! Hey! You! You!
I don’t like your girlfriend!
No way! No way!
I think you need a new one
Hey! Hey! You! You!
I could be your girlfriend

Hey! Hey! You! You!
I know that you like me
No way! No way!
No it’s not a secret
Hey! Hey! You! You!
I want to be your girlfriend

[Verse 2]
I can see the way, I see the way you look at me
And even when you look away I know you think of me
I know you talk about me all the time again and again
So come over here, tell me what I want to hear
Better yet make your girlfriend disappear
I don’t want to hear you say her name ever again
(And again and again and again!)

[Bridge]
She’s like so whatever
You could do so much better
I think we should get together now
And that’s what everyone’s talking about!

[Chorus]
Hey! Hey! You! You!
I don’t like your girlfriend!
No way! No way!
I think you need a new one
Hey! Hey! You! You!
I could be your girlfriend

Hey! Hey! You! You!
I know that you like me
No way! No way!
No it’s not a secret
Hey! Hey! You! You!
I want to be your girlfriend

In a second you’ll be wrapped around my finger
Cause I can, cause I can do it better
There’s no other
So when's it gonna sink in?
She’s so stupid
What the hell were you thinking?!

Cat Scratch Fever

I was trying to do a good deed by helping Mike's grandmother trim her cats nails.

I do this all the time with my cats so I offered to help out (Since Mike is too squeamish to hold the cat).

I had Maxx over with me but kept him outside (Which Piewhack was watching intently)

Everything started out just fine. Then suddenly without warning, Piewhack hissed and struggled to get down. I wasn't quick enough to let her go and she not only scratched me but bit me.

Now I am freaking inside because I have been bitten by a cat before. My parents cat and my hand got infected rather quickly.

They say cat bites are worst than dog bites because the when the teeth puncture you they pull out and the wound closes. Within 12 - 24 hours later the bite can be extremely infected where as a dog bite tears so that the wound can be cleaned and become less infected.

So here I am TOTALLY FREAKING on the inside but being very calm and cool on the outside. My mind was racing a mile a minute trying to think ahead that I might just head to the ER (I didn't want to take any chances).

Mike had told me he had some antibiotics left and gave me one, which made me think I had some left over at home from my brother when he fell and smashed his face. So that made me feel a little calmer that I might be able to fight the infection on my own.

I kept an eye on my hand, keeping it elevated to reduce the swelling and help to slow down infection plus I kept cleaning it, putting peroxide, ointment or tea tree oil on it to help me fight the infection. I took another antibiotic as soon as I got home and with some rest felt somewhat better.

Monday at work was a bit difficult because I had to use my hand.
The more I used it or hit it, it became more sore. I have to say I was worried. It definitely didn't feel any better but the infection wasn't spreading, so being the hopeful person I am I decided to wait it out and see.

After work, once I was home again I popped another antibiotic and cleansed my hand again.

You would have thought I would have rested it, but oh no, I went out and cleaned the inside of my car.

Today it feels much better. It's not tender to the touch and much of the warmth from the infection has gone away. The redness and swelling has gone down a great deal also. I am still careful of it, too much pressure still hurts (After all it is a bite)

But I have made it through yet another crisis.

That which does not kill me -- makes me stronger. (I should be invincible by now!)

Field Trip

Julieanne came over to our office and asked if anyone wanted to walk next door to get ice cream. Auntie Kim's is a new Ice Cream shop that just opened today.

The Birds are chirping, the sun is shining, there is a slight breeze filling the air.

Beautiful day for a field trip!

Andy, Julieanne and I grabbed out change and headed out the door.

It was just nice to get out for a short get away. School had already let out and the buses were dropping children off just down the road.

There were already 3 or 4 cars at Auntie Kim's, which is always a good sign.

My first "Ice Cream of the Year" (at least at a ice cream shop)

We each ordered a dish of small ice cream and enjoyed our treat on the way back. Smiling and laughing makes for a good end to the work day. Only and hour to go.

It's the little things I enjoy and that put a smile on my face.

It's only the beginning of nicer days and more adventures in store.

It's About Damn Time!

I've been waiting for this day for ever!

This winter started out mild and I didn't mind but something inside me knew that we were in store for some real bad weather.

For Christmas there wasn't any snow on the ground, at least not where I lived. It was kind of weird but I honestly could get use to that.

Then mid January is when it all hit. The cold, snowy, freezing weather. I knew it was too good to be true. Not only that but it stayed for a while.

Then we get hit with a hug storm on Valentines day, had to be at least 3-4 ft of snow. All hopes of an early spring faded fast.

But then March came and went and the weather was so so. The snow slowly melted and the temperatures were chilly but slowly increased. Unfortunately no where near warm enough for me!

A few nice days play with our emotional state of mind. That's when the rug got pulled out from underneath us........ here it is second week of April we are suppose to have the warm sunny weather and what does it do???? That's right, you guessed it, SNOW.

I was in Gloversville (Actually Meco) at the time and it was like a winter wonderland by the time I left late Sunday night they had at least 6 inches of snow. Down here in the valley we were lucky, some places just had a dusting or it was just rain.

Finally today April 19, 2007 it is FINALLY SPRING!

The temperature says 45 degrees out but it sure feels much warmer than that!
The sun is shining and the birds are chirping, you can just smell the fresh new rebirth of natural all around.

Summer is just around the corner and I have so much that I would like to get done!

What A Joke!

I have been an American Idol fan since the show first began.

There has been a few years where the contestants weren't that great.

The first year, of course, was great. Kelly Clarkson deserved to win and has done very well.

In between they had Ruben Studdard, Clay Aiken (runner up), Fantasia, Taylor Hicks who all won the title or at least had some record deal out of it. They were OK singers but they haven't made it as big as say Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Bo Bice, or Chris Daughtry.

This year American Idol is just a joke. I don't know whether it is just for publicity or if people are actually voting this way but Sanjaya Malakar is a joke.

To listen to him he has an OK voice. He sounds like any normal person singing in the shower or to the car radio. American Idol material he IS NOT!

There is a web site (http://www.votefortheworst.com) that might be helping to make this season a bomb.

But it is just ridiculous to keep this boy on here to keep ratings. He sucks, plain and simple. and will just end up fading into the background after all is said an done.

Why waste my time??? One of my favorite shows to watch has been ruined and as it stands right now I will not be watching it next year!

Whats Going On?

Tragedies are happening all over the world, but nothing really sinks in until it hits closer to home.

Over the past few weeks it seems like the whole world is falling apart, which make keeping a positive outlook on life very difficult.

First the Utica cop that got shot and killed last Thursday night doing a traffic stop. He was only 32 years old, former Marine and has been on the police force for over 5 years. It was reported that he was wearing a bullet proof vest but that still didn't keep him alive.

So many questions about this senseless killing.

But that hasn't been the only killings going on.

Monday, the VA Tech shooting, killing 33 people, injuring at least 15 other people.

What makes someone simple take someone else life?

I can't fathom being able to point a gun and shooting someone.

Now I have been mad enough to want to so call "kill" someone but I could never ever do it. I just can't understand what snaps to make a person do such a thing.

This just goes to show you that anything can happen at any time. No one is guaranteed that they will live a long life. Just because are healthy doesn't mean that you will live long either. You could be going to the mall, the movie or simply out to eat and some nutcase having a bad day decides to take some lives.

Such a somber feeling that it could happen to me or someone I love.
I could just be heading to the store to pick up dinner and get shot or get into an accident.

Or even worst, someone I love could be the who gets killed.
Have I told them I loved them? Do they know how much they have made a difference in my life? Would I have any regrets of making their lives miserable or have I done everything possible to better their lives?

You just can put it off any more, why wait until tomorrow when there just might not be a tomorrow.

My heart goes out to all those families and friends who are going through these tragedies. And not only the ones we hear about on the news but the ones we don't hear about.

Photography

I have always enjoyed taking pictures and when in the right mood tend to be a picture taking fool. I have boxes and boxes of pictures.

I don't tend to like to be on the opposite end of the camera often. Possibly because I feel my pictures never come out looking good. Some people are very photogenic and not matter what they look like, what they are doing or wearing they always seem to take a good picture.

I on the other hand can take 10 pictures and if I am lucky 1 or 2 might come out descent.

With technology being what it is now digital camera make that a good possibility for me but yet again I am the one who sets up my shot and that is very hard to have to the the camera position, self timer ready, get in position and not look flustered.

I never got the chance to get into really learning about taking pictures and developing film (I still would if I get the chance) I like taking non posed pictures. You get a much better story behind the picture than if you say "Okay now, smile and say cheese"

Again this is part of finding who I am and what will make me happy.
I've been saying to myself you need to start bringing your camera more often but never do. I have an awesome 35mm camera that I still want to get the telephoto lens for (I have to remember to put that down on my Christmas list)

Last night I took plenty of pictures of Mike and Jon just playing pool. At first it started out like the typical picture taking but then I started getting a bit more artistic. My digital also has some neat effects like shooting in BW or Sepia, Blue or you can have a frame around the picture right when you take it so many things I was trying out. I shot some real good pictures which as soon as I can get them downloaded to a computer I will be posting. IF I don't post them on my blog I will post a website you can go to to check them out.

Stay tuned . . . . budding photographer on the rise. . . . . . . .

Post Concert Update

We had an awesome time!

First of all I was able to share this experience with my best girlfriend Tammy (we don't get to have these types of experiences often, what with the children and just how busy lives get) so just being able to go out and hang is a very special treat.

Secondly, the whole reason we were even there in the first place was because Danyel, Tammy's daughter is a HUGE and I mean H - U - G - E Evanescence fan and this was her very first concert! To be able to share in that experience was an honor too. Not only did we get to reminisce about our first concert or any concert for that fact, we also met some really cool people.

There was a group of kids (I would say in their early 20's) that was traveling around with the tour. At least in this north east region. They were from Canada (Ontario I believe). They have been to all their concerts in Canada, CT, NY etc.

Finger Eleven was OK and Chevelle I really didn't care for But Evanescence ROCKED.

I think now that I am older I see things from a different point of view. I took in more of my surroundings, the people, the stage. Where as when I was young I was there and had fun, rocked out but I don't feel I soaked it in as much I did this last time.

The crowds started to get a little rough by the time Evanescence took the stage. It wouldn't have been as bad but we were trying to protect Danyel from getting crushed or hurt so Tammy and I took the brunt of it. Once Evanescence took stage Danyel didn't even notice we were there anymore.

There were a few fights that broke out right behind us and the pushy Bitches that tried weaseling there way up. The tickets were general admission on the floor at the Glens Falls Civic Center.

We actually had some very good luck in finding a close place to park and getting in the doors rather quickly. Not only that but once we got in there we headed for the floor and found a very good spot and held it all night long.

I only wish I had a camera phone or even just a camera. I know the tickets and the door said no cameras, video or recording devices but when entering they patted you down quickly and just asked if you have any cameras....?????? Hello, OK like if I had a camera on my I would just say "Oh yeah shit sorry" Duh! SO there were tons of people with camera phones just snapping away.

The experience was a total blast. It made me realise how much I miss going out and having these new experiences and adventures. For the past year and a half I feel like I've been stuck in this rut and so not happy. It needs to change, I need to change and find what makes me happy again.
This is a good start!

SIMS

I'm a little behind on the gaming situation. I am not a die hard gamer but there are a few times when I do get into playing games on PS, Xbox, and now on the computer.

My best girlfriend introduced me to this game. I have heard of it before and have always wondered what it was all about. But never got around to buying it. I have bought and played Silent Hill, Resident Evil, even Lord of the Rings and have gotten hooked on it while playing it.

But this game........I wouldn't say it is the best of all games (because it's not) but it does get addicting. The Sims. Of course I don't have the new Sims2 but I have The Sims Deluxe Edition and I have found myself kinda hooked on it. The best part I like is creating the house. Building, decorating, buying etc. Creating the life that these Sims will live. The first few days I was excited and couldn't wait to play the whole game but now I find myself fast forwarding through a lot of the actual game playing part.

But these Sims can be funny. You create characters with moods of how active, playful, nice, neat, and outgoing. The find houses for them to move into or you build them a house. You have to find them jobs and they have to cleanup after themselves, sometimes they even throw a fit when they want to do something else other then what you tell them to do.

If they are in a bad mood or depressed mood and your tell them to do something they will say No, refuse to do it.

If they wake up and haven't gotten enough sleep they stamp their feet and have a tantrum before moving on with their day.

I think if or when I get some of the expansion packs it will make it more interesting and not as boring as it is starting to become. Depending on what ones I buy I will be able to go on the town for a HOT DATE, or on a awesome VACATION maybe even purchase a few pets.

It is so much like controlling someones life. And for those who like to do that this is the game for you!

Evanescence

This Thursday Evanescence is playing at the Glens Falls Civic Center in NY with Finger Elven and Chevelle and my awesome girlfriend got us tickets!

Well she basically got the tickets for her 12 year old daughter Danyel because she "LOVES" Evanescence. Of course she can't go alone she is only 12 and I don't think Tammy wanted to deal with the drive and the crowd alone (LOL) Thats the one think I hate about concerts is the crowds.

But it will be a Rocking concert! Evanescence ROCKS, I like Finger Eleven (They have a few songs I have heard and liked, Now Chevelle I have not heard of before but I found their website and their myspace site and their songs are pretty good so it will be a awesome rocking concert.

Check them out at their official website
